Creation of a large scale sundial and fully functioning bar on London’s Southbank.

Another project working alongside Ambient, and this one was 360 tightest deadline yet.
From client sign-off to installation, 360 had to bring the Aperol Spritz Sundial Social popup experience to life in just 1 week! Our dedicated team worked all hours possible for 7 days straight to bring the brand to life.
The sundial
360 used 3D visual software and complex calculations to determine the angles of the sun and the shadows that would be cast on the proposed installation date. We then replicated these on a 4m wide sundial, which cast a shadow for everyone to see when it was Aperol Time. Sitting at the end of a 32m long jetty at Queen’s Stone on London Southbank, it wasn’t going to be missed.
The bar
Filling the 324sqm space at Queen’s Stone on London’s Southbank, a fully functioning 20ft wide bar was where Londoners were offered a complimentary Aperol Spritz when the sundial struck 5pm.
Every fine detail was considered to make the experience run as smoothly as possible. The front of the bar was where brand ambassadors and barmen welcomed guests and served them their drinks, behind a laminated worktop with undercounter fridges where chilled Prosecco and freshly sliced oranges were stored. Making sure the bar stayed stocked up, the back of house area included more fridges, ice boxes and preparation spaces. Staying on brand, the bar area was clad in tongue and groove timber with Aperol Spritz vinyl logos applied to this. Along with 2m wide shelving with uplights either side to display Aperol bottles, branded awning running with the width of the bar and Aperol accessories to dress the bar, the brand was brought to life on London’s Southbank.
Over the 6 day activation, nearly 4,500 drinks were served, exceeding the target of 1,500! An average of more than 600 guests visiting per evening!
